Meditations on His Word, December 2014                     Ecclesiastes Chapters 11 & 12

Solomon, the writer of the book of Ecclesiastes, touched the heart of our Father when he asked for wisdom and knowledge.  II Chronicles 11 & 12 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honor, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king: Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honor, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

Solomon, in the wisdom that God has granted him, has come out of doubts and confusion to share with all mankind the summation of God’s doctrinal teachings.  In chapter 11 verse 1 we are told to cast our bread upon the waters and we will find it after many days.  To understand the symbolism of this instructional and awakening verse we must not take it literally.  Some actually teach that this verse means to invest your money in foreign trade!  Wow, are we still thinking carnally or what?!  What does bread symbolize?  John 6:32 & Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.  Today as we study God’s Word, let us put the teachings of the Old Testament and the New Testament together for our understanding.  Jesus is the bread of life.  He is the Truth that we are to be casting to all. What we are to cast (share, teach, give) upon the waters (mankind) is our faith and knowledge of the Truth/Jesus (bread).  Sometimes we may feel that it is not being heard or increasing, but we are promised that after many days we will find that it is being heard and understood.  In the following verses we are told to sow continuously because we do not know what may take root and grow, but our Father does.

In verse 1 of Chapter 12, we are being told to remember the Creator in the days of our youth.  This reminds us of Matthew 18:3 & 4 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven., and how we are to love the Lord with all our hearts, minds and souls without the sadness, disappointment and disillusionment that comes with the dark days of living in this world.  Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

In the following verses of chapter 12 we are told to keep searching for truth (verse 10 “acceptable words”) and to keep teaching it until our bodies return to dust and our spirits return to God who gave it. We are told in verse 11 that the words of Truth are as nails that build something to hold us in a peaceful place of understanding and that Truth is as goads that poke/prod us along into seeking further wisdom and knowledge for growth and maturity.

In verse 12 we are told that reading the many books that are written (just walk into any Christian bookstore) can be wearisome to the flesh.  Other books may be useful for help in understanding or may only cause more confusion, but only the Word of God can transform us into His likeness.

Solomon gives us the conclusion of our entire life’s duty:  “Fear (love and be in awe of) God and keep His commandments!” “God will judge every man’s work, whether it be good or evil.”  Good works sown in love and Truth He has promised to increase in the minds and hearts of His children.

                         The Trinity

Most Christians would be very surprised to find that the word Trinity is not in the Bible.  It must be!  Christians use it to question, doubt, judge and condemn the salvation of others!  Of course, it all depends on which side you are on that allows you to condemn others.  If you do believe in the Trinity you are condemned by those who don’t and vice versa.  Denying the Trinity is blasphemous heresy to those who do believe in it. Isn’t this a perfect example of contentious debates warned about in God’s Word.  People splitting hairs will always bring about discord and conflict in people who should desire unity through Truth.  We need to find peace and harmony by coming to the understanding that this divisive teaching is not beneficial to the Kingdom of God here on earth.
The teaching of the Trinity that is prevalent today is that God is literally three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The word three is never used in reference to our Father in the scriptures, God is never referred to as a person, the Holy Spirit is never called God and Jesus is the Son of God and cannot also be the Father or equal to the Father.  John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

How did the theory or hypothesis of the Trinity come to be? Webster’s Dictionary, hypothesis: A system or theory imagined or assumed to account for what is not understood.  How sad that because someone did not understand the scriptures we have this man-made theological doctrine used to divide God’s family.  Our Father is a wide open family, not a trinity. We must let the scriptures speak for themselves and in them we will find peace.  Just because something has been taught and believed by millions does not make it true.  Let our Master’s teachings be the whetstone that sharpens your knowledge of His Truth.  Ecclesiastes 10:10  If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.

The Bible is quite clear on who God is and how many gods there are.  I Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and in the remaining part of the verse we get another distinction of who Jesus is, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;.  The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of our Father that comforts and guides us into knowledge as our Father sees fit. It is not another god. However; inasmuch as these three are in agreement in ALL things, I agree that they are one and the same.  When Jesus says in John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.            He meant that they are one in agreement and the Father and Son want the same agreement for all of our Heavenly Father’s children.  How ironic and unholy that the teaching of the Trinity is causing just the opposite in His children.  Why must we make rifts with other people over debates that really serve no purpose in building the Kingdom of God here on earth?   These debates will never bear any fruits of the Spirit of God.  Let Truth set you free from all confusion about the Trinity teaching and be at peace.

Meditations on His Word, October, 2014

Colossians 2:16 &17 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:  Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

It would seem that too many still have a problem accepting the beautiful and freeing instruction of the above verses.  Some have a hard time not critiquing or judging those whom they deem are not “properly worshipping” our Heavenly Father.  Can one imagine an earthly father, knowing the heart of his child, not being pleased with the love shown to him?  Do we honestly think our Heavenly Father demands proper worshipping or the child is condemned by Him?  Our Creator knows His children’s hearts.  He knows the difference between love coming from a sincere heart and that of a repetitious feigned or pretended one. Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Wasn’t our Lord Jesus the perfect example of love superseding religious laws and ordinances?  He came and fulfilled the salvation plan of our Father, but not in the way of the religious laws and ordinances that were being taught at that time.  Christ chastised the Pharisees and the leaders of the synagogues many times for imposing restrictions and rituals on those who were seeking God.  Many of our churches today are still imposing restrictions and doctrines on those who come seeking fellowship in Truth: How many times a week one comes to church, the proper attire for some churches, the amount of tithing one is giving, the acceptance without question of some teachings.  It seems mankind just cannot resist setting themselves up as more righteous than others if they are following some religious rituals and others are not.  This causes such division instead of the unity we are to desire. Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Jesus addressed the condemning judgment of others many times in His teachings. Such as:  Disciples picking corn to eat on the Sabbath and Jesus healing on the Sabbath.  Luke 6:1-11  And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands. And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?  And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him;  How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?  And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.  And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered. And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.  But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.  Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?  And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.  And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

Wasn’t our Savior trying to teach us that love and worship are shown in many ways and not by some regimental laws or rituals that satisfy the human need to feel superior in their righteousness?  Maybe we should worry more about the integrity, honesty and genuineness of our own loving worship and leave others to express theirs in their own ways. It is not our place to judge, but only He who is on the receiving end of that worship.  Matthew 7:1 & 2 Judge not, that ye be not judged.  For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Meditations on His Word, September, 2014

Mark 9:38-40 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.  But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. For he that is not against us is on our part.

Coming across a person using his website to rip apart another man who is teaching the Holy Word as he feels led by God, causes such sadness and despondency for the unifying of the kingdom of God here on earth.  This man was baiting and goading this teacher to defend his teachings.  What was so obvious was the lack of the fruits of the spirit that a man professing to be a fellow Christian should try to convey.  There was no love, kindness, temperance, gentleness or patience in this man’s belittling and condescending attack on another person.  Galatians 5:22 & 23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Just because we come across someone’s teaching that we disagree with, doesn’t mean we are to go after them to self-righteously show them how wrong they are and how brilliantly we are full of absolute knowledge.  With humility we must remember how many times in our on-going maturing as an adult Christian we have been sure we were right in our beliefs and teachings to only be corrected by our Master that we have erred.  If our Heavenly Father and our Master show us such patience and understanding as we mature, why do we not extend that same patience and understanding to others?  Matthew 18:32 & 33 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

Yes, we are to give an answer (when asked) for our faith and our teachings, I Peter 3:15 & 16 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ., but we also are to know when we are casting pearls before swine.  Matthew 7:6  Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.  When led by the Holy Spirit, you should be able to discern when someone is being a swine just so they may rend you apart. If their attitude is argumentative and arrogant, then have no further conversation with them.  We should not allow ourselves (led by our pride in our knowledge) to become involved in contentious debates with a self-righteous and conceited person.   II Timothy 2:23-26 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

If we are to be representatives of our Master, Jesus our Christ, then let us personify His similitude or likeness by maturing in the fruits of His Holy Spirit.  Let us show love and patience with kindness and gentleness as we encounter others who are doing as they believe they are being led.  Who knows, what they are teaching may be right and you could be mistaken.

Meditations on His Word, August, 2014

James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Proverbs 3: Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

We often hear the comment made while observing others going through difficult times, “There, but for the Grace of God, go I”.  This declaration has always been rather upsetting to me.  Are they saying that the one going through trials and tribulations does not have the Grace of God, but they do?  And if so, do they merit that Grace of God more so than anyone else?  Are they saying that if sudden disaster befalls them one day that they have lost that Grace of God?  Are they ignorantly or not so ignorantly making a judgment on this person’s favor with God?  If we answer yes to any of these questions then we are not exhibiting any lowliness or humbleness needed to receive grace as described in the above verses.  Makes one wonder if at the time of Christ’s beating and crucifixion if some would have said, “If he had the grace of God he wouldn't be going through this.”  They actually did say in Matthew 27:43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

It would seem that it is just the opposite that should be said at the trials and tribulations of ourselves and others: “This is the example of God’s Grace; lovingly teaching, guiding, correcting, chastising and maturing one of His children into His Kingdom here on Earth.”   I Peter 5:10  But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect (mature), stablish, strengthen, settle you.

We must never assume that trials and tribulations are only for the unsaved and unrighteous.  We must never make those suffering with trials and tribulations feel as if they do not have the grace of God.  Let us remember what Jesus taught in Luke 13:2&4 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance gives the definition of grace as: divine influence upon the heart and the reflection in the life.  Therefore; let us be careful that what we are judging as the lack of grace is truly the reflection of our Father’s Divine Grace manifested in someone’s life by their experiencing something that changes their heart and their lives.  Is this not the most beautiful evidence of our Father’s favor for His children?

We are promised by our Lord that we will be changed from glory to glory into His likeness.  If we truly want His heart and His mind then we will lovingly accept His instruction.

II Corinthians 3:18  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

               The Symbolism of Jezebel’s Death

II Kings 9:33&35 And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.

And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.

We want to learn all that our Father has had written down for us so that we might understand what we are witnessing in our own lifetimes here on earth.  Too many want to take the stories of the Old Testament as just that, stories. They teach them as you would teach “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” or “Little Red Riding Hood”:  interesting and entertaining, but missing the wonderful enlightenment of their true meaning.  The Old Testament is just that, the Testament of our Father’s instructions and plans for us.  Just as the New Testament is His Son, our Savior’s teachings and instructions for us.

Jezebel represents anyone, male or female, who rebels against God and seduces others to do so.  She had her own priests to spread her rebellion and to try and destroy the true priests of our Heavenly Father.  She is our example of someone who is not ignorantly or childishly rebelling against God, but one who knowingly and deliberately defies, opposes and challenges our Sovereign Ruler.  She was warned and chastised to repent, but she was determined to show her repugnance for God.

It may be uncomfortable for us to examine ourselves to see where we may have some “Jezebel” in us, but if we truly want to be mature and obedient followers of our Lord, then we must do it.  Have we been convicted by the Holy Spirit of our Master that we are supporting and upholding false teachings?  Are we afraid to stand for His Truth if it will cost us our friendships or social lives at our churches or other places of study and fellowship?  Are we afraid to step away from our traditional religious upbringing for Truth’s sake?  For the sake of honor among relatives, friends and acquaintances do we keep silent when asked for the Truth?   Matthew 13:57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. If we can answer yes to any of these questions, we may have more of a disobedient Jezebel spirit in us than we could ever have thought possible.

We want to see the instructional symbolism of this part of the verse, “but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.”  The skull represents the mind and our thinking or knowledge.  The feet represent standing for the rebellious mindset against our Father. The palms of the hands represent the work of our hands to carry out defiance against our Lord.  These were all that were left of Jezebel and, unfortunately, they still remain today in the unrepentant souls of her followers.

Jesus instructed us in Revelation 2:20-23 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

Jezebel’s children (students or followers) are killed with spiritual death because of their mutinous false teachings and their lack of repentance.  They are spiritually dead because they rebel against the Truth.  We must make sure we are not one of her children that carry on her doctrines.

Meditations on His Word, June 2014

I Corinthians 10:12  Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

As we mature in our unity with our Father, our Savior and their chastising and instructional teachings, let us always remember the above verse when we become vain and self-righteous about what we erroneously may believe to be the Truth of  God’s Word.

There is more than one denomination that teaches that they emphatically know for certain that the beast in the 13th chapter of Revelation is the papacy or the pope of the Catholic Church.  They can outline very convincing teachings and references to prove that what they teach is true.   Many articles, websites, blogs and seminars are created to advocate this teaching.

The Catholic Church does have a great share in the false teaching of the Word of God, but they are not alone.  Unfortunately, most denominations, sects and religious organizations, etc., also have a major part in teaching ignorantly.  It is when we think that each or any of them are the specific beast that we make a very detrimental mistake in our maturing process.  This belief causes us to do no examining of our own teachings or knowledge of the Truth.   It hinders our being able to hear the Truth being taught to us by the Holy Spirit of our Master, Jesus.  We must be willing to keep our minds open to the fact that we have been wrong in our teachings before and we could be wrong again.  If we do not have this willingness to listen and examine our teachings then…….This is when we fall.  Of course this doesn’t mean that we should not have strong convictions about our beliefs, but if we ask others to consider what we are teaching then we must always be open to the fact that we have much to learn and are always being taught by our Teacher, Jesus.

How can we stand and not fall if we have no Truth within us?  We must seek the Truth from our Lord and be always willing to stand for it.  Many are under conviction by the Holy Spirit that what their pastors or denominations are teaching them doesn’t sit right with The Holy Spirit of Truth, but they are not strong enough to walk away from false teachings and stand for Truth.  John 12:42 & 43  Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue (their churches or groups):  For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

John 12:46  I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.   Darkness represents the lack of knowledge of our Lord and He as the Light wants us to not abide in darkness, but become enlightened by His Truth and not be in danger of falling away from it.  So many have no idea that although they believe in Christ, they are falling away from Him by supporting false teachings in their religious houses.  When they accept the teaching that they know who the beast is of Revelation; that it is a specific named entity then they cannot see that it is referring to any who are walking in darkness and supporting falsehoods.  Every week as they enter their places of worship they haven’t a clue that they are falling. They are falling because they have been misled by fellowship and teachings from someone whom is also falling.  We ALL must look to ourselves to see where we are falling because we are the Beasts of Revelation when we either knowingly or unknowingly teach or support falsehood.

Meditations on His Word, May, 2014

Revelation 3:14-19 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;  I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:  I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

We may not fully understand the meaning of the above verses, but we think there are some pretty good illustrations in our present day lives for us to consider.  One example is lately, we have heard people who profess to be Christians making comments about the movie just released called “Noah”.   Comments such as, “Well, it doesn’t exactly portray the Biblical facts about Noah and the ark, but isn’t it good that they are even talking about something in the Bible?”   So “close enough” should be our attitude while seeking and sharing the Truth of the Word of God?

Another example of this “close enough” attitude is the Christian celebration of Easter.  Knowledge has come to almost everyone today that the origin of Easter is from a pagan fertility celebration.  But do those knowledgeable teach or preach that it is offensive to call the Christian observance of our Father’s plan for mankind’s salvation and our Lord’s sacrifice, Easter?  Why is it so hard for teachers to be set free from a misunderstanding of Truth, but then insist on mingling the old ignorant ways with a time of honoring our Father and Savior?  When Paul was on the road to Damascus and was made aware that what he was doing was wrong before our Lord, did he get up, gain his sight back and begin to combine new Truth with his old ignorance?  Why are teachers today so afraid of doing an about-face and going forward with the Truth while leaving immature unknowledgeable teachings behind and denouncing them?  We know there would be financial and membership repercussions from those who want to keep the egg hunts and Easter bunnies mingled in with observing the death and resurrection of our Lord, but we have been instructed to stand for the Truth.  Ephesians 6:14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

Do we not recognize that the pursuit of Truth is the reflection of God’s character and that we are to honor our Father who commands us to seek it and to love Him with all our minds?  Do we wish to remain as those described symbolically as the church of Laodicea: lukewarm, neither hot nor cold and only fit to be spat out (not useable in the kingdom of God here on earth)?  Do we continue on in our church memberships, false teachings and celebrations thinking that we are just fine or do we repent (do an about-face) and become zealous in our pursuit of Truth?  If we truly want Truth our Lord has promised that whoever asks, seeks and knocks for enlightenment of Truth shall receive it for the glory of the Kingdom here on earth and in Heaven.  (Not for our own glorification!)

Matthew 7:7 & 8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Meditations on His Word, April, 2014

"…that in the mouth of TWO OR THREE WITNESSES every word may be established" (Matt. 18:16).

"…In the mouth of TWO OR THREE WITNESSES shall every word be established" (II Cor. 13:1).

"And I will give power unto my TWO WITNESSES…" (Rev. 11:3).

These verses are misused daily to attack those seeking and studying to find the Truth of God’s Holy Word.  Some seem to think that if they can reference two or three verses in different books of the Bible that this proves what they are teaching is Truth and what another is teaching is false.  But if one is not spiritually hearing and seeing the Truth of certain verse/verses in the Bible then they are using misunderstood verses to back up other misunderstood verses.  That is why we have so many contradictory teachings all claiming to be led by the Holy Spirit of our Master, Jesus.  We know that we are living in the time of confusion and that we are told in Revelation   to “come out of her/confusion.” Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.  We say many times on this website that we are commissioned to sow and water what our Lord reveals to us, but only our Heavenly Father can increase (make spiritually clear) to others.  I Corinthians 3:7 & 8 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase (in understanding).  Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one (unified in teaching): and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

The symbolism of the word “Two” in the above verses means those (innumerably, not just literally two) that are becoming perfected/matured in union with God and His Truth.  This is how two becomes one with God, just as our Savior did.  John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. In II Corinthians 13:1 above, the word “three” symbolically means Divine completeness and Perfection/Maturity.  This is what our Teacher, Jesus, wants for us and what we are instructed to strive for in our time on earth.  It takes maturing children of God to teach and stand for the Truth.

In their immaturity you will be accused by some of being an evil unclean spirit and the devil when you teach what has been revealed to you by your Teacher, Jesus.  Remember that as you take up your cross to follow Jesus and to share His Truth, you will be accused and persecuted by those who think they are doing God’s will and this is why you must pray as our Lord did, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”   Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.  We are told in the Holy Word that we are to expect this treatment because it also happened to our Savior.  Matthew 10:25  It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

We are instructed by our Lord to teach as He teaches us.  Ephesians 6:19  And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,  Remember that wisdom from above is peaceful, not full of envy and strife caused by carnal self-righteousness.

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Let us pray that we are unified (Two) in the teachings that our Master has revealed to us as we grow into maturity and spiritual completeness. This unity is what will bring all of God’s children out of Babylon/confusion where we have been worshipping false teachings.

Isaiah 30:25 And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

A lot is written about the towers falling in the verse above.  Some say they are literal towers that fall or have already fallen.  Some say they are the twin towers in New York City that fell at the hands of terrorists.  We must remember that the prophetic books of the Old Testament were prophesying about our Father’s plan for mankind’s salvation; the birth, death and resurrection of His only begotten Son, Jesus, our Christ. The “rivers and streams of water” in the above verse symbolize truth and Jesus is the Truth.  John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  Jesus/Truth will always topple false towers.

When Jesus completed the plan of salvation He toppled not only the towers symbolized in the above verse, but all towers that will ever be spiritually erected by mankind in their hearts or minds; towers that they look up to or trust for strength and comfort; strength and comfort that should be desired only from our Father and nobody or nowhere else, i.e.; Pharaoh and Egypt.  Isaiah 30:1 & 2 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

We are still being taught by too many that the Old Testaments prophesies are still to come and so many teachers spend so much time trying to make them fit in the world today.  Because we are so interested in the externals of this world instead of the internals of our spirits and souls, we are mislead and distracted from overcoming and working out with fear and trembling (loving awe, obedience, honor and respect for our Lord) our own salvation.  Philippians 2:12 & 13  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear (awe and respect of our Father) and trembling.  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Churches and religious teachers spend so much time on trying to interpret prophecy and timelines of what they think are prophetic happenings or events that they neglect teaching that we are to be looking inward, the conforming of our likenesses into the likeness of our Master and Savior, Jesus.  When we look inward we are not worried about outward situations because we will handle whatever our Father allows before us with our new inward conforming spirit.  It is an ongoing maturing process and as long as we are in this fleshly realm we are forever being chastened, corrected and transformed by our Father, because He loves us.  Hebrews 12:6, 7 & 8 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?  But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Thousands of books and seminars are written and held every year by “experts” who claim to interpret prophesies and set timelines.  Many have come and gone because their predictions did not come to be.  Unfortunately, they are replaced with new ones teaching so many people to be consumed with external situations instead of internal situations of the soul and spirit that we must face if we are to become an overcomer. Let us remember, the beast, false prophet, devil and the antichrist is within us and these are the towers that must fall.

Meditations on His Word, February, 2014

John 6:65 & 66 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

It is hard to believe that anyone who had followed Christ, heard Him speak, watched Him heal and experienced His love for all mankind, would “go back and walk no more with Him”.  But if they were following Him because of curiosity, peer pressure, amusement or adventure–seeking then they had not been given the desire by our Father to seek His Son.  Many are enticed by the entertainment, the huge arenas, and the number of attendees or the charisma of a preacher or speaker.  But if there is no spiritual desire from our Father to come unto our Lord and Savior then they will tire of these carnal attractions and move on to other enticing interests.

In these verses we must not overlook that Christ says “NO MAN can come unto me except it were given unto him of my Father.”  We cannot make someone come to Christ, only our Father can, as His gift to mankind.  Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  We may put someone through the rituals and indoctrinations of becoming a Christian, but they will only truly be a follower of Christ if our Father has given that belief unto them.  This brings up the issue of backsliding.  Some are so quick to accuse others of backsliding because they have turned away from following a church or denomination’s doctrines.  If they were never given the desire from our Father to come unto Christ then they could not be backsliding.  Ironically, what appears to some to be backsliding may be the manifestation of witnessing the gift of the desire from God to come unto our Savior.  If the churches or denominations are not teaching the Truth/Jesus they may be leaving because our Father is calling them to seek the Truth/Jesus and to “come out of her (Babylon, confusion and lack of Truth).  Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

It is interesting and instructional that the word backsliding/backslider is only found in the Old Testament, before our Savior was sent to save ALL mankind.  In those days it was possible for people to backslide from the expressed desires God had given them.  There are many verses in the Old Testament chastising them for turning away from and disobeying God’s commandments. Jeremiah chapter 3, verses 6,8,11,12,14 & 22.  But we are told clearly that it is not possible to backslide for anyone who has been called by God to come to salvation through His one and only Begotten Son, Jesus.  We are told that that would be the same as crucifying Him on the cross for a second time and that is impossible because He has already fulfilled His Father’s plan of salvation for ALL mankind.  Hebrews 6:4-6  For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

We are shown our Father’s love for us when He tells us in Hosea 14:4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.  And He did just that with the birth, death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus our Christ.

I Corinthians 5:5  To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

The above verse can cause some trepidation in the reader.  It is a very scary thing to think of being delivered to Satan for the destruction of the flesh.  But who better to show us when we are living in the flesh and not living in the spirit of God?  Galatians 5:16 & 17 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

In the book of Job, Job was allowed to be delivered to Satan to prove not to our Father that he was a faithful and loving servant, but to prove to Job that he was.  Job was taught by this time of enlightenment to look deeply into his spiritual relationship with our Father and not be led by fleshly experiences or fleshly advice from others.  We know from our Father’s Word that we are changed and matured for His Glory by every flesh-destroying experience that Satan uses on us.

II Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

As followers of Christ we are to show love by teaching the Truth of our Father to all, for their and our maturing and changing into His image.  If we lie to them and glorify them in their sin then we are not doing the work of our Lord.  If we surround them with a false sense of protection in their sins by accepting their sins openly in the places we call Houses of God, and then we are not doing the work of the Lord.   Paul chastened the people at Corinth to teach the Truth and to show those committing these sins (and all sins) that they had turned away from God and were now in the hands of Satan (rebellion and disobedience to God).  With Satan there is no love, peace or joy in your soul and spirit.

How can we profess to love someone and then lie to them about sin?  If we truly love them would we not want to keep them from being turned over to Satan for destruction of the flesh?  If we do our parts as followers of our Christ/Truth, we will strive to chasten, correct, exhort and teach as Christ instructs, then they have no need to be delivered to Satan for destruction of the flesh.  It is the duty of Christ’s disciples to carry on His teachings, corrections, chastisements and His love for all mankind.  Lying and exhorting them in their sins does not show love for them. Taking pleasure in their sins is a sin of our own to repent.  Romans 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Paul was astounded by the fact that the followers of Christ were puffed up and proud of their behavior toward those sinning.
I Corinthians 5:2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.  We have churches today so proud of themselves for being “inclusive” of those practicing sexual sins.  They are blinded by their pride in being inclusive that they forgo teaching the Truth to those they profess to love.  It is truly the blind leading the blind and all must be delivered to Satan for destruction of the flesh.  Luke 6:39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

We must remember that unbelievers are watching believers’ lives. We are to be a light in a dark world, a city set on a hill. If the church looks no different than the world, then it loses its witness.
